Main text: Ezekiel 36-40

Summarized:

From the date when Ezekiel measured the visionary temple in Ezekiel 40 unto 1948 when Israel became a nation again are 1260 plus 1260 years

It happens that 1260 plus 1260 days is an important seven-year period in the bible, spoken of in Rev. 11-13 and elsewhere. (360 x 7 days.)

573 BC Nisan 10, plus 1260 years plus 1260 years
= AD 1948 Pentecost

Israel became a nation on Sivan 5th on the 360 calendar, but which was May 14 evening to May 15 evening in 1948.

Israel became a nation at midnight May 14th ending, in 1948, upon the termination of the British mandate.

Note: It can be shown that even the Jewish calendar of Iyar 6 could have been Sivan 6th {i.e., Pentecost} that year since the month began very late that year. Sivan 5th is Pentecost on the 360 calendar while Sivan 6th is Pentecost on the regular Jewish calendar. This is because the month of Iyar only has 29 days in it on the regular Jewish calendar, whereas the 360 calendar always has 30 days.

Ezekiel 40:1 (ASV) In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither. ( Nisan 10, 573 BC.)

Eze 40:2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.

Eze 40:3 And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

Eze 40:4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Questions and Answers:

Que. What is significant about Israel becoming a nation in 1948?

Ans. It fulfilled such prophecies as Ezekiel 36 and 37 and heralded the soon end of the age. Palestine was a desert land before Israel recently made it "like the garden of Eden."

Ezekiel 36:33-35 (ASV) Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded. And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.

Que. What is the connection between the measuring of the temple in Ezekiel 40 and Israel becoming a nation, aside from there being 1260 years plus 1260 years?

Ans. The prophecy of Ezekiel 36 and 37 about the return of Israel to her own land flows naturally into the subject of the rebuilding of the temple in Ezekiel 40. Simply put, Israel is not fully restored until God Himself sits within His temple in Jerusalem. Thus, there needs to be a temple. The temple is the climax of a restored Israel. Note the last verses of Ezekiel 37.

There has been some confusion concerning what I believe about when Ezekiel's temple will be rebuilt. I try to clear up that matter on the forum. Click here. In a nutshell, there will be a temple or sanctuary desecrated by antichrist, and then there will also be the temple of Ezekiel built during the Millennium. Why it will be rebuilt is also discussed on the forum!

Ezekiel 37:25-29 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children, for ever: and David my servant shall be their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah that sanctifieth Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Que. But Israel is still without a temple, Why?

Ans. Israel is being restored in stages --- all on a numeric grid known only to God, but explained to us as it happens. Moreover, while the temple is literal it nevertheless has an important spiritual application: The temple is figurative of the body of Jesus Christ who is the now-rejected king of the Jews. Eventually Israel's will receive a 'Pentecost' rebirth, as did the disciples 50 days after Christ rose from the dead.

John 2:19-21 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple building, and thou wilt raise it up in three days? But he spoke of the temple of his body.

Questions about Nisan 10th and "Pentecost"

Que. Why did Israel become a nation on Pentecost?

Ans. Israel became a nation on Pentecost to fulfill the prophecies suggested in Ezekiel 36-37. (Also see Ezekiel 16.) Ezekiel refers to "an everlasting covenant," and both the old and new covenants came about on Pentecost, (1446 BC and AD 30).

Ezekiel 36:24-28 And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land. And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses and from all your idols will I cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and ye shall do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Ezekiel 37:26-27 And I will make a covenant of peace with them: it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for ever. And my tabernacle shall be over them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Also see Ezek. 34:25.)

The new covenant was fulfilled when the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost. At that time there was "a sound like mighty rushing wind." Compare that wind with the prophecies of Ezekiel. (The word for "Spirit" and "Wind" is the same in Hebrew.)

Eze 37:9 And he said unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Eze 37:14 And I will put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I will place you in your own land: and ye shall know that I Jehovah have spoken, and have done it , saith Jehovah.

Ezekiel speaks about "a covenant of peace," and this is likely another covenant that results from the new covenant inaugurated at Pentecost as established 50 days earlier at Passover at the death of Christ. The "covenant of peace" and the "new covenant" are related to each other as can be seen in this verse:

Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

Compare this verse with Jeremiah's prophecy:

Jeremiah 31:31-33 Behold, days come, saith Jehovah, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day of my taking them by the hand, to lead them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband unto them, saith Jehovah. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and will write it in their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Therefore we conclude that it is highly significant that Israel became a nation on Pentecost, the anniversary of both the old and new covenants, since these covenants are the theme of the previous chapters that flows into the text of Ezekiel 40 where Ezekiel measures the city and temple; and as said, from Ezekiel 40 unto Pentecost 1948 are exactly 1260 years times-two. (See also Ezekiel 44:7.) The measuring of the temple and the city in Ezekiel 40 are graciously revealed by God as both a fulfillment of the promises made by Him in the first covenant (on Pentecost 1446 BC) and by virtue of the coming results of the new covenant (also inaugurated on Pentecost AD 30). This is true also of Pentecost 1948, when Israel became a nation. God fulfilled his covenant to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (ratified at Sinai) by restoring Israel as a nation in 1948, however He showed this mercy on the basis of the New Covenant in that He only made the original promises to Abraham in the first covenant on the basis that God foreknew that there would indeed be another covenant built upon better promises. Thus it is very significant that Israel became a nation on Pentecost, the anniversary of both the old and new covenants, since these covenants are the theme of the previous chapters that flows into the text of Ezekiel 40 where Ezekiel measures the city and temple.

Que. Why did Israel become a nation on Pentecost on the 360 calendar rather than the Jewish calendar?

Ans. Firstly, I have already explained that both calendars can be Pentecost on May 15, 1948 anyway. However, 1260 years times-two represents the same in days as per the prophecies of Daniel 9, Daniel 12, and Rev. 12-13. The time span of 1260-times-two days equal a seven-year period on the 360 calendar, (i.e., 360 days times 7 {years} = 1260-times-two). Thus, to use the 360 calendar rather than the regular Jewish calendar is consistent with itself. For we have 'seven years' of years (as derived from the 360 calendar) from Ezekiel 40 unto 1948, 'Pentecost,' (which is also derived from the 360 calendar). The 360 calendar is consistently used.

Revelation 11:1-3 I was then given a stick that looked like a measuring-rod, and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count those who are worshiping in the temple. But do not measure the outer courts, because they have been given to the heathen, who will trample on the Holy City for forty-two months. I will send my two witnesses dressed in sackcloth, and they will proclaim God's message during those 1260 days." ("42 months" is 1260 days on 360 calendar; i.e., 42 x 30 days-in-a-month equals 1260 days, which is half-a-seven year period of 1260-times-two  days.)

===============

Revelation 12:4-6 With his tail he dragged a third of the stars out of the sky and threw them down to the earth. He stood in front of the woman, in order to eat her child as soon as it was born. Then she gave birth to a son, who will rule over all nations with an iron rod. But the child was snatched away and taken to God and his throne. The woman fled to the desert, to a place God had prepared for her, where she will be taken care of for 1260 days.

Question: Why is there not an exact 1260 plus 1260  years between the prophecy of Ezekiel 40 to when Israel becoming a nation to the very day? Why instead is the period from 573 BC Nisan 10 unto 1948 Pentecost? Should not Israel have become a nation on Nisan 10 as well to make an exact 1260 plus 1260 years?

Ans. Firstly, we have already seen that the old and new covenants that were both given on Pentecost are major themes in relation to Ezekiel 40. This would be reason enough that Israel was born-again as a nation on Pentecost. For Israel became a nation in keeping with those covenants. However, there is another reason why Pentecost is so important and how it connects to Nisan 10th.

Ezekiel received his vision Nisan 10th, 573 BC and importantly, "Nisan 10th" is the anniversary of when Israel entered the Promised land. And thus 1260 years times-two later Israel once again enter the Promised land (in 1948)! (Nisan 10 comes 55 days before Pentecost on the Jewish and 360 calendars.)

Joshua 4:19 The people crossed the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month and camped at Gilgal, east of Jericho.

Ezekiel 40:1 (ASV) In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither.

As said, Ezekiel received his vision Nisan 10th, 573 BC, and "Nisan 10th" is the anniversary of when Israel entered the Promised land. However, it was on Pentecost that God intended that Israel should enter the Promised land. God intended that Israel enter the Promised land about 40 years before they actually did. (God intended that Israel enter the Promised land one year after the covenant at Sinai, 1446-1445 BC, {Deut. 1:2}. This is discussed in detail at this link.)

Thus, in 1948 the land of Israel returned to the Jew on Pentecost, the anniversary of when God intended Israel to take the Promised Land!

Vision of new Jerusalem and temple revealed to Ezekiel in 573 BC, Nisan 10, (the anniversary on when Israel entered the Promised Land in 1406 BC); and 573 BC plus 1260 years times-two later the Promised land reverts back to Israel in 1948 as promised in Ezekiel 36-39!

And moreover, this happened on Pentecost (1948), the anniversary on when God intended that Israel enter the Promised Land in 1445 BC!

Moreover, since God poured His Holy Spirit out on Pentecost AD 30, hence, Jesus brought a people, the "Church", into their 'promised-land' rest that day also. The Church was 'born', just as natural Israel was born again as a nation in 1948. Both entered a "Promised Land" on Pentecost.

Pentecost is the anniversary of the Covenant on Mount Sinai,
 but it is also the day that God intended Israel to enter into the Promised Land (one year later);
however, due to disobedience they were delayed.

Thus, there is an exact 1260 times-two years between the measuring of the temple in Ezekiel 40 on Nisan 10th, unto when Israel became a nation in 1948 on Pentecost in the sense that both Nisan 10th and Pentecost symbolize basically the same thing.

Que. Does that fact that Israel was also circumcised Nisan 10th (1406 BC) on the very same day that they entered the Promised land in 1406 BC have any significance?

Ans. Yes! The circumcision on Nisan 10 when Joshua led Israel into the Promised land is typical and symbolic of the New Covenant, (Joshua 5:7). The name of Jesus is a variant of the name Joshua in Hebrew and it is Jesus that leads His people into the Promised land of His heavenly kingdom by virtue of the New Covenant in His blood inaugurated on Pentecost AD 30. This is when what was spoken of by the prophets was fulfilled, that is, "the circumcision of the heart."

Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

Eze 44:7a in that ye have brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to profane it...

Eze 44:9 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any foreigners that are among the children of Israel. (This combines

Jeremiah 4:4a Circumcise yourselves to Jehovah, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go forth like fire,...

Therefore on Pentecost the two covenants were made and also on Pentecost God intended Israel to possess the land (1445 BC), and the two themes of 'circumcision/covenant' and 'the taking of the land' are closely related. (And keep in mind that Pentecost is also when Israel again took the land in 1948). Thus, in the bible Pentecost depicts both the entry into the Promised Land and also the Old and New Covenants, for Joshua circumcised them "the second time" on the same day they entered the Promised Land. Under the old covenant the flesh was circumcised, but under the new the heart is symbolically circumcised. Thus, Nisan 10th and Pentecost have much the same meaning and historic significance. This is why it is proper that there be 1260 plus 1260  years between the two dates as said.

Que. The fact that Nisan 10 was also the anniversary of when the Passover lamb was selected for Passover sacrifice, does that have any bearing on this? Also, Nisan 10 is the anniversary of the "triumphal entry" of Jesus into Jerusalem as 'king' a few days before His death on Passover. How does all this play into things?

Ans. Jesus is the new Joshua that leads His people into the Promised land as both Priest and King thereby again combining the two aspects of the meaning of these two dates. For we have the covenant of blood led by the priests and the entry into the promised land led by the captain and king of the covenant. Jesus fulfills both aspects. Jesus is the One to whom they cried on the day that they were selecting the lamb for Passover, "Hosanna to the Son of David! --- Blessed is the King of Israel!" (Matt. 21:15; John 12:12-13.) And this, as said, was also on the anniversary of Joshua's triumphal crossing of the Jordan to possess the land.

Ezekiel 37:22-26 and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all; neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. And my servant David shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in mine ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children, for ever: and David my servant shall be their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

Que. What does Pentecost mean?

Ans. It was one of the three mandatory feasts held every year. Pentecost means '50', and it occurred 50 days after the first barley harvest. Pentecost celebrated the ingathering of the wheat harvest. Pentecost is symbolic of the harvest of souls into God's kingdom, but we cannot go into detail about that now. But do remember that it was on Pentecost that God poured out His Spirit and the Church was born and that a harvest of 3000 souls were saved that day and baptized in water, (Acts 2:41). Again this answers to Nisan 10 when Israel crossed the Jordan and they too were all baptized in the Jordan,  and this supplies us with yet another thematic connection between the dates of Nisan 10 and Pentecost! For on both those dates a people were baptized in the Jordan into a new kingdom. The main difference being that on Pentecost AD 30, they were baptized in the Holy Spirit first, which event marks the circumcision of the heart and tongue by the fire of God, rather than the circumcision of the flesh by the knife of a man.

Questions about "1260"

Que. What is significant about the time frame of "1260 plus 1260" days (or years) in relation to Ezekiel 40 or in relation to Israel becoming a nation?

Ans. There are a number of reasons why 1260 is significant: for this is the very time frame used in the bible to symbolize all that has been said so far as to what Nisan 10 and Pentecost represent! This is the time frame that matches the prophecy.

Firstly, the prophecy of the "1260 days" found in Revelation 11 directly ties into Ezekiel 40. Most any commentary on the bible will point this out. The one prophecy is adapted from the other. In both cases there is the measuring of the temple with a rod while in a vision. Thus, to have this very time frame of '1260-times-two' years between the measuring of the temple by Ezekiel unto when Israel again became a nation is most amazing! This is the time frame given in Revelation that concerns this prophecy in Ezekiel!

=============

Eze 40:3-4 And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Moreover, the first place that the bible explicitly mentions the time frame of 1260 days is found in Revelation 11:3. There it implies the giving of "power" to the "Two Witnesses." And this narrative obviously alludes to when God likewise 'poured out His Holy Spirit' on the disciples at Pentecost so that they might have power to witness! Thus again we have the connection between Pentecost and 1260, and therefore in turn the connection back to the 1260 years times-two to Pentecost, 1948.

Rev 11:3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Act 1:8 but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Act 2:1-2 And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Moreover, the Two Witnesses come back to life after 3.5 days (at the end of the 1260 days of prophesying) when a "breath enters them." This, again, is the imagery of Pentecost and of Ezekiel 37.

Moreover, in Revelation 12 we have the second (and last) explicit reference to "1260 days". In Rev. 12 the 1260-day time-period is patterned after the time when Israel wandered in the wilderness 40 years. This is significant since Israel wandered in the wilderness/desert 40 years after she was supposed to enter the Promised land on Pentecost, but did not do so until 40 years later on Nisan 10th; (to be precise, it was 39 years). Thus, the "1260 days" of Revelation 12 is patterned after a period of time that stretched 40 years between the same two anniversaries that the 1260 years times-two spans. And the theme is the same as well! That is, the 40-year wilderness-wandering spanned from Pentecost, 1445, to Nisan 10, 1406 BC, just as the 1260 years times-two (patterned after the 40 years) similarly spanned from Nisan 10, 593 BC, to Pentecost, AD 1948.

Rev 12:5-6 Then she gave birth to a son, who will rule over all nations with an iron rod. But the child was snatched away and taken to God and his throne. The woman fled to the desert, to a place God had prepared for her, where she will be taken care of for 1260 days.

Que. Why not just one 1260-year period rather than two 1260's until 1948?

Ans. The 1260-year period is adapted from the 1260-day period. There are numerous prophecies that show that the 1260 days is simply half-a-seven year period. For example, in Daniel 9:24-27 a covenant is made for seven years/days and "in the middle it is broken". (Hence, "in the middle" means after the first 1260 days, which is a 3˝-year period.) The covenant of Mount Sinai was also over a seven-day period. Remember that both the Sinai covenant and the New Covenant are both referred to in Ezekiel 37 and both were inaugurated on Pentecost, the same day Israel became a nation.

Moreover, the book of Ezekiel contains a prophecy in chapter 37 that tells us that the divided nation of Israel and Judah will again be reunited when they return to their land. In several places in the bible this is symbolically compared to a broken rod. Ezekiel 37 speaks about this in the context of the the New Covenant which suggests that the broken rod that becomes one again refers numerically to the two halves of this seven-year period, that is, 1260 days times-two. Thus we have a divided nation and a divided seven-year covenant symbolized by a divided rod. And this rod ties us also back to the measuring rod in Ezekiel 40.

Ezekiel 37:19-21 say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them with it, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thy hand before their eyes. And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, whither they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

Moreover, beside a seven-year peace treaty/covenant (of 1260 days times-two  as mentioned in Dan. 9) we also have another event mentioned in Ezekiel that also lasts seven years. In Ezekiel 38 and 39 there is a prophecy about a great battle that occurs between Israel and a far northern kingdom who along with Arab nations surround and attack Israel. This battle is said to occur in "the last days" when Israel has miraculously come back to their land. However, those nations are miraculously destroyed that presume to attack her and then we read in Ezekiel of a seven-year process of burning the weapons of war. "Seven years" is 1260 days plus 1260 days, and thus we have another tie-in with the said 1260 years plus 1260 years to 1948. Thus, we have a direct reference to the actual time-frame of seven-years mentioned in this famous prophecy the very chapter before Ezekiel 40.

Eze. 39:8-9 Behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord Jehovah; this is the day whereof I have spoken. And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall make fires of the weapons and burn them, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years;

This same great prophecy concludes with another reference to God pouring out His Sprit upon them, which, as said, was spiritual fulfilled already at Pentecost, AD 30.

Eze 39:28-29 And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them unto their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there; neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Thus, to have seven-years of years (1260 years times-two) from this great prophecy of Ezekiel 40 unto Pentecost 1948 is most significant! However, the fact that the undated prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 was near fulfilled when Israel became a nation on Pentecost 1948 makes the connection absolutely certain. For immediately upon Israel becoming a nation Arab nations attacked Israel from all around. But God delivered Israel as He promised He would. (In subsequent wars Russia has aided the Arabs --- Russia the land of the "far north"!

Opportunistic Russia may well have had plans to enter that 1948 war as evident by Russia's unsavory intentions afterward. Thus, 1948 could well have been WW3!) However, while the prophecy of Ezek. 38 was in part fulfilled Pentecost 1948, yet it is obvious that we await the prophecy's complete fulfillment, which will come to pass in its own time and numeric grid as certain as the first part of the prophecy has already come to pass.

Thus to answer the question, "Why not just one 1260-year period rather than two 1260's until 1948?" The answer is that the prophecy in Ezekiel 39 mentions a full seven-year period, and not half that. And that a full seven-years of years later (1260 years times-two) Israel indeed became a nation and a battle very comparable to Ezekiel 38-39 then took place. Therefore if that great war had indeed occurred the day that Israel became a nation then the numeric of 1260 years times-two and then another 1260-times-two days as per the prophecy of Ezekiel 39 for burning the weapons would have made perfect numeric sense. But instead the war of 1948 serves as a shadow and type of things to come. But God is delaying that battle until the fullness of time.

Bible prophecy tells us that when this great war occurs that there will also be a covenant signed between the antichrist and Israel that will also last 1260 days times-two, but in the middle it will be broken. It is unclear in my mind exactly where the battle of Russia against Israel will fit in with this 1260 day times-two  covenant. Perhaps the seven years of the burning of the weapons might occur in the middle or even the end of this tribulation period, so that the weapons are burned seven years into the start of the 1000-year reign of Christ? It is hard to say. Interestingly, however, the bible does inform us that at the end of that 1000-year reign that another battle like this one will occur again and that then the age will be completely wrapped up and the eternal age will dawn, (Rev. 20:8).

Summary:

From the date when Ezekiel measured the visionary temple in Ezekiel 40 unto 1948 when Israel became a nation again are 1260 plus 1260 years.

573 BC Nisan 10, plus 1260 years plus 1260 years = 1948 Pentecost

Que. Is there further time frames involved with this prediction about Israel becoming a nation on Pentecost, 1948?

Ans. Yes!

Abraham was born 1948 years after Adam,

and Israel was born as a nation in AD 1948. Is this a coincidence?
